The chromatic Spacedrum® is, until now, the only instrument from the handpan (Pantam) family recently created to propose a complete chromatic scale!
Bigger than the diatonic and pentatonic models, it has 13 notes which really open new horizons to the musicians. It's no more necessary to buy several instruments to build a chromatic scale!
This model can be put on a stand or on your laps despite it's a bit larger than its little brothers.
The chromatic scale induce a new notes layout on the top (with four notes) which requires a little mental gymnastic to control the instrument.
Metal Sounds now offers the fifth generation of stainless steel Spacedrum. The Spacedrum Evolution are protected against the effects of corrosion, even in extreme weather conditions. The steel used, harder than the DC04 or DC05 type shells generally used, maintains durably the tuning strength over time, and the structural solidity of the instrument. The diameters of the DIMPLES have been increased to optimize the general balance of the instrument. The polished dimples also give this new generation of Handpan a luxurious design that reflects its quality.
This instrument is fragile and needs to be protected when it's not played. Our bags are specially designed for a good protection of the Spacedrum®.

Maintenance tips for your handpan :
Wipe your instrument with a soft microfibre cloth after each use.
To care for your handpan remove the removable rubber profile and apply wax or oil to the entire outer surface of the instrument (top and bottom) about once a month with a microfibre cloth. Also remember to clean your instrument with alcohol 2 to 3 times a year to remove the deposit due to successive applications of wax or oil. Do not leave your handpan in its case and store it in a dry and ventilated place.
